Do You Need Pool Maintenance In NJ?

It can be such a wonderful feeling anytime you remember that you own a swimming pool, but what you don’t realize however, is the fact that you need to take proper care of the pool to fully enjoy its benefits. To ensure that your swimming pool lasts long and to keep it clean and fresh, routine maintenance is required. This maintenance can be done on a daily, weekly or monthly basis; depending on the wishes of the owner. The thought of maintaining your pool could be frustrating to you, but it doesn’t have to be so.

Maintaining your pool doesn’t need to be as difficult as you think. Although different types of pools require different methods of maintenance, they are all basically related. You can do the pool maintenance yourself or leave it for a pool service company to take care of it.

Maintenance work can be done on your pool tile, the pool water, pool equipment and pool filter.

If you decide to do the pool maintenance in NJ yourself, the following tips can come in handy.

Pool water. To take care of your pool water, you need to understand some things about the water such as the pH levels, the total alkalinity level, chlorine level and so on. Check the pH level to know the degree of acidity or alkalinity of the water. For safe water, the pH level ought to be at 7.

After checking the water and testing for properties, the next step is to apply the appropriate chemicals to adjust the levels if they are not the right values. If the chlorine levels of the pool water are not right, apply the right value of chlorine to fix it. During this you also need to apply other chemicals such as algaecide to get rid of algae on the water.

Pool filters. You need to also clean the pool’s filters to remove stuck dirt and debris from it. The filters are very important in keeping the pool water clean, so adequate attention needs to be given to them to keep the pool always clean.

There are three different types of pool filters, with each requiring a different maintenance procedure. Ensure you know what type of pool filter your pool is using before working on it. The pool types are cartridge filters, sand filters and diatomaceous earth filters; cleaning the filter is dependent on how frequently the pool is used and the type of filter.

It is important to note that over-cleaning the pool filter can impede the filtration process and as such you need to read the instruction manual or contact the manufacturers to know the recommended cleaning routine for the filter.
